We have come through a hotly contested election. Many
different positions were put forth to the membership. We had overwhelming
participation. It’s gratifying to see the level of commitment our membership
has to our local
union. The membership has made their decision with their votes, it’s time
for all of us to join
together as one common entity. Although we have differences among
ourselves, it is our unity when dealing with the company that makes us
strong.
An injustice to one union member is an injustice to us all. Our wants and
needs
are the same. New issues are upon us. In addition to contract negotiations
in .2008,
we will face many challenges along way. If we stay unified as one, we will
stay
strong. Congressman Pete Visciosky ~ the plant to meet people coming into
work.
Pete has always stood up for Steelworkers and their struggles. We as working
people need to be involved in the political process & support candidates
favorable to our needs.
